Estimates generated by all FACET equipment models are for life cycle costs (LCC) and are displayed as mean values comprising development, production and running (in-service) costs.

Development costs comprises of all non-recurring acquisition costs including, unless otherwise stated, production investment as well as design, prototype manufacture, testing and other trials activities. Production costs being the recurring element of the acquisition costs.

Running costs are general split into crew and non-crew elements. Crew costs being those for personnel accommodated within a vehicle, vessel or aircraft under normal operating conditions and who are necessary for its operation. Non-crew costs relate to the equipment in-service costs that do not relate to crew pay, for example Fuel, Spares etc.
